"Honeycomb" paper construction - hexagonal core cells + precisely selected cover layers - creates an light, yet exceptionally rigid board resistant to crushing and impacts. The material is more than eight times lighter than wood, and after use it goes directly into the waste paper stream. The 600 × 400 × 30 mm format is perfect as an insert, filler or spacer in the transport of heavy and sensitive loads.
🍯 What exactly is a "honeycomb" structure sheet?
Honeycomb sheet is created in three steps:
- Core expansion – Kraft paper strips are alternately glued with strips of water glue, rolled into a block, and then "stretched" lengthwise, forming a rigid network of hexagonal cells with a height of 30 mm.
- Lamination of the coverings – the faces of testliner (durable recycled paper) are applied to both sides of the core, which transfer tensile and compressive stresses like the straps of a double T-beam.
- Cutting to size – the finished plate is laser cut or cut with a tape knife to the dimension of 600 × 400 mm.
